After three changes in venue in as many days, 9th District Democrat state Senate candidate Dan Biss will present the Madigan agenda for Illinois’ public employee pension crisis tonight (Thursday) at Temple Beth Israel, 3601 West Dempster, Skokie, 7 p.m. Clearly candidate Biss has gotten wind of the interest in hearing his take on the Democrat owned and operated fiscal mess – the one issue that has done the most to bring the state to the point of imminent bankruptcy. Known as Mike Madigan’s right hand man in Springfield – Republican challenger for the 9th District seat Glenn Farkas calls him “Madigan’s tool” – Biss will have a chance to vote (or not) in the state legislative special session on Friday. He currently represents half of the 9th as state representative.
A strong turn-out by constituents will send a message to Madigan that the corrupt, pay-to-play schemes that make Illinois politics a national joke are finally on the radar. Join your neighbors at this important event to send a clear message to Madigan’s tool that the 9th District needs a new face. Then support Glenn Farkas for state Senate.
***In case you cannot attend, ConservativeBrand will be live blogging during the Biss event beginning at 7 p.m.

I attended the Pension Reform meeting in Skokie and found Mr. Biss’ adamant public self-admittance as “liar” who has contributed to the severe economic problems of Illinois all the more reason to vote him out of office. Not only did he try to re-frame the Pension Reform problem as a fight between teachers and Non- Cook County property tax payers- as opposed to the political leaders in Springfield- he gave further support to his ideas of a progressive income tax in Illinois. Mr. Biss is woefully out of touch with the voters in the 9th Senate District. I wanted to apologize for him to the Wilmette business owner and property tax payer who asked a question and was given short shrift. Mr. Biss’ apparent answer to Pension Reform will be lock-step in line with his Springfield boss, and ardent supporter; and his answer is to significantly increase the property taxes on those “wealthy” property taxpayers he obviously disdains in his district. It is time we TAKE BACK Illinois from the self-proclaimed liars; and start with new leadership – starting with his opponent, Glenn Farkas, whose campaign motto is “Respect the Taxpayer”. The only one Dann Biss apparently respects is Mike Madigan. While I found the other presenters at the forum informative, it was Mr. Biss’ own words and performance which showed me he
has no business representing the 9th.

Your point about Biss’s lack of connection to the taxpayers in the 9th is very good. He lives in the rarefied atmosphere of academia and politics – no experience whatsoever with private enterprise and all the issues surrounding living on the North Shore – if you are not on the public dole.
