Early voting is easier than ever in suburban Cook Co., thanks to the county clerk, David Orr. Any registered voter can vote by mail before election day, or vote early in person, without providing an excuse. There is no longer any such thing as “absentee voting.” Here’s how it works:

  • Download an early voting application via http://bit.ly/ySf3WN.
  • Call for an application at 312-603-0964.
  • Pick up an application at a Cook Co. Clerk’s office – the closest for North Shore voters is the Skokie Court House, 5600 West Old Orchard Rd., Skokie. Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Wednesday 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.

College students who are registered in suburban cool county should download the early voting application on line.
