Mark Carter is looking to send a message to “this fraud of a president” at Saturday’s Bud Billiken Parade; Obama is a fraud because he has never addressed the 43 percent unemployment in Carter’s new Broke Party Woodlawn neighborhood Chicago. The non-partisan Broke Party wants jobs. The activists involved are not looking for hand-outs – they are the kind of Americans who want to work hard and build their own American dreams. Maybe Barack Obama’s failed policies – which seem more focused on his re-election than solving real-life problems  – ring hollow in neighborhoods where unions and politicians don’t know much more than pay-to-play the Chicago way. Too bad the president can’t fit the Bud Billiken Parade into his busy fund-raising/golfing schedule this August; (he was grand marshall last year). Shades of his NAACP no-show in Houston last July?

The Bud Billiken Parade and Picnic will be this Saturday (8/11/12) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., starting out in the Bronzeville neighborhood at 32nd and South Martin Luther King Blvd. It goes south to 55th, ending up with a gala picnic in Washington Park. If you want to watch the floats and celebrities – or pass out 500,000 flyers to help the Broke Party – join the fun on Saturday.
