Residents of the 9th Congressional District of Illinois – and they could be called excessively complacent residents – may not even know that their new representative in Washington is the most liberal member in the country, none other than Rep. Jan Schakowsky of Evanston (whose husband is a convicted felon.) With Democrats in control in Springfield, and with (may we say complacent) voters allowing Democrat Gov. Marshmallow Quinn’s election, redistricting brought this traditionally moderate Republican district into the hands of a radical, socialist sympathizer who barely represents her old Evanston constituents. If you reside in Wilmette, Kenilworth, Winnetka, south Glencoe, Northfield, Golf, Niles, Park Ridge, Mount Prospect or Wheeling, better check a map for the boundaries of the new 9th.

Fortunately, there is an excellent conservative candidate running in the 9th District under the banner “A New Direction for the New 9th” – Republican Tim Wolfe. Tim is an accountant in the private sector whose objective in running for Congress is to create jobs, reduce the Federal deficit, and replace ObamaCare with private market solutions. Tim wants you to get to know him better, and he needs your help spreading the word on his campaign. He will be meeting his future constituents this Saturday, October 6th, at 10 a.m. at Hackney’s on Lake Avenue. There is no charge for the event, and breakfast will be served. This Sunday at 2 p.m., Tim will debate Jan Schakowsky at Oakton Community College – this is a League of Women Voters (or Democrat-controlled) debate, so supportive audience members are vital.

Another venue to get to know Tim Wolfe would be the New Trier Republican Organization’s annual Dinneree on October 14th at Allgauer’s in Wheeling. Featuring Rep. Adam Kinzinger (who defeated longtime Rep. Don Manzullo in northwest Illinois), many other Republican candidates will be speaking. Tim Wolfe’s supporters will have an opportunity to learn more about his campaign and his views at the Dinneree.
