Savory Cheese Coins

2 1/4 cups flour

1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter

2 cups grated sharp Cheddar cheese

1/2 cup milk

1 Tbs. Worcestershire or steak sauce

Combine flour and cayenne pepper in food processor. Add butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse meal, 8-10 seconds. Add cheese to food processor and pulse until combined. Transfer to a large bowl. Using a fork, stir in milk and sauce until well combined.

Form the mixture into several 1-inch diameter logs; wrap in parchment paper or plastic wrap. Chill in the refrigerator until very firm, at least one hour. The logs also can be frozen for later use.

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheets with parchment paper and cut logs into 1/4 inch rounds. Place the rounds on the baking sheets, spaced one inch apart. Bake until golden, about 12 minutes, rotating baking sheets halfway through baking.
